Iceland Itinerary

Flight from New York to Iceland a just a little over 4 hours - so it is a nice quick getaway. We went there for 5 days only. Here are some tips on what to see and here to eat.

Sights:

Silfra Fissure - Snorkel between the 2 continents

The Tomato Greenhouse -Solar powered tomato farm, great place to stop for lunch, they only serve tomato soups, pasta, bread – lots of fresh bread – totally amazing and all delicious. This is close to Gulfoss.

Blue Lagoon – this is close to the airport so go there on the way in or on the way home. Must make reservation as it gets crowded.

Tour Golden Circle - Waterfalls, Geysers, Thingvellir National Park, these are major sights to see around Reykjavik, they are day trips and we did this over 3 different days

Gullfoss Waterfall – a drive from Reykjavik – day trip

Black Sand Beach – Vik

In Reykjavik: Hallgrimskirkja which is a modern cathedral with a huge tower

Olgerdin Brewery - Brewery that has Brennivin, Iceland's national drink, http://www.olgerdin.is/en/

Fiskfelagid - Cozy restaurant in basement of a building, supposed to be best seafood, http://www.fiskfelagid.is

Baejarins Beztu Pylsur - Stand has been around since 1937, Iceland staple, the hot dog is very popular & well known, http://bbp.is/en/
